From a Simple Country Blessings Pattern he was made entirely by hand without the use of any sewing machine. From the bottom of his handmade, black, washed, wood stand to the top of his hat Abe stands 24 inches tall. Made of coffee stained muslin he has a needle sculpted nose, eye lids and hands. His eyes are painted with acrylics and his hair and brows are dark wool that was sewed on. He has a vest, coat and tie made of paint washed muslin and the buttons on his vest are vintage anchor buttons. I Want You!
Uncle Sam stands 19 inches tall and is a hand sewn and painted makedo. He stands atop an Americana red painted candlestick and has an American Flag Hang Tag attached. His eyes are painted and his nose, mouth and hands are needle sculpted. Sam has the traditional pointy finger. I needle felted his hair and beard.
With Sam is his little Americana Altered Mini Book. Inside the book are Americana sayings on torn parchment paper and Americana decorations. There is room for you to add pictures or other sayings of your own. On the front is a key and charm tied to homespun. The charm says "Hope".

Adapted from a Skunk Hollow Country Store pattern we made an 11 inch star out of burgundy quilters felt and grunged it to just the right perfection. On the front is a coffee stained patch with the word "America" hand embroidered on it. We put it in a tall rusty spring and tied a curly raffia bow with a burgundy star stitched to the middle of it.
